Filming and Editing

Yesterday me (lucy) and steph had the final bit of filming left to do (at least we thought we did). Basically, we looked over our footage and realised that we could not get away with our actor, paddy, to play both roles of the 'ex boyfriend' and the 'stalker'; it was too obvious that it was the same person. Even though the 'stalker's' face is not shown, but the body shape etc was the giveaway. This meant we had to film the whole lot again, and find another actor as soon as possible, which we were successful in doing so. Another reason why we had to do abit more filming was that a previous filming session we had accidently taped over some of the footage, and had to re film. I personally preferred the first recording of this specific scene, but we could not merge the 'over the shoulder' conversation together due to continuity. Whilst editing we tried to merge part of each conversation from the first trail of what was left of the scene, and the more recent filming together. My hair was simular and the clothing was the same, however the cloak stand in the background had different coats and scarves hanging off of it, which was the decision maker of not being able to combine the two sets of filming.
We imported all of our filming material onto the Mac today, and in total we have 10 minutes worth of footage, so we are really going to have to narrow it down to make it into a Teaser Trailer. We started by ordering the different scenes and events, selecting clips into 'thumbnails' on 'imovie', creating a summary of the storyline to begin with; giving structure to the trailer. We then started to sharpen up the shots by making them shorter and snappier by the editing tool of 'black fade out' as a transition. For a flashback scene in our trailer we tried decreasing the 'saturation' to make the shot black and white which successfully worked.
